Ardith finished her race here on earth Monday, August 3, 2026. She met her Savior, eager to hear Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Ardith was born to Christ and Altia Funk on May 4, 1940, in American Falls, Idaho. She grew up on a farm in North Pleasant Valley and helped with all the work associated with farm life. She attended schools in American Falls and graduated from American Falls High School in 1958.
On October 19, 1958, Ardith married her high school sweetheart, Earl Vollmer. They made their first home on a farm in Fairview, northwest of American Falls. They were blessed with five children: Deborah Kaye, Brent Earl, Linda Marie, David Lee, and Mary Leona Vollmer. The family moved from the farm to the city of American Falls in 1972.
Ardith worked both in and out of her home over the years, doing whatever was needed to help her family. She was active in her church and loved teaching Sunday School and attending Bible studies. She led a 4-H club and judged at county and state fairs. Music was very important in her life, and she loved to sing from her high school days through retirement. Sewing became her passion, and she loved making quilts and doing alterations for family and friends.
Jesus, our Lord and Savior, has always been the center of Earl and Ardith's home. They spent 67 happy years together. Ardith is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Vollmer; great grand daughter Ella Joy McCarthy and siblings, James Buzzard, Robert Buzzard, William Buzzard, Robert Wilke, and Verda Burke. Ardith is survived by her husband, Earl; children, Deborah (Tim) Rudeen, Brent (Elizabeth) Vollmer, David (Lynn) Vollmer, and Mary (Dale) Morrical; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Falls View Cemetery in American Falls, Idaho, Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:00AM.
The family would like to thank the Power County EMTs and the staff at Portneuf Regional Medical Center for all their assistance and care of their wife, mother and grandmother. In lue of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice.
