Arlene Lucille Wahlen Conrad, 69, of Spokane Washington passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 in Ogden, Utah. She was born in American Falls, Idaho to Clarence Erwin Wahlen and Laura LaVern Ferguson. 
She was raised in Aberdeen Idaho and graduated from Aberdeen High School. While in high school she participated in drill team, cheer leading and was active in the youth group at her church. She married her best friend and love of her life, Dean Mecham Conrad, on March 28, 1964 in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple.
She followed her husband to Spokane, Washington and raised 5 children. She faithfully fulfilled many callings in the church and always opened her home to those in need and made room at her table for missionaries, friends and family. She was an outstanding cook.
A large part of her life was her quiet acts of service. She was always supportive of her husband’s obligations and a great caregiver to him during the last years of his life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Conrad, her parents Clarence and Laura Wahlen and her siblings, Claire Wahlen, Boyd Wahlen, Maxine Smith, and Jack Wahlen.
She is survived by her children Wendy (Jann) Farris of Morgan, Utah, Dean (Natalie) Conrad of Spokane, Washington, JC (Jennie) Conrad of Spokane, Washington, Michael (Marie) Conrad of Spokane, Washington, Melissa Perez of Phoenix, Arizona, her 15 grandchildren and her siblings Gary Wahlen of Mesquite, Nevada, Karen Waters of Dallas, Texas and JoAnn Bradley of Jerome, Idaho.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Aberdeen 2nd Ward, 149 W Central, Aberdeen. The viewing will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Davis-Rose Mortuary 170 Idaho Street, American Falls, and on Friday one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
