Betty Bercier

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and friend, Betty (Betty Boop) Bercier, 80, left this world peacefully on September 6^th at Power County Nursing Home.

She came into this world on February 18^th, 1942, in College Corner, Ohio to William Carl Kline Sr and Verna Mae (Wilson) Kline. Their family later returned to Idaho where she met and married Steve Joaquin Colungo Sr. They had 3 children: Steve Joaquin, Verna Marie and Pete Dewayne. They later divorced and she married the love of her life, Simon Peter (Popeye) Bercier Sr. They raised the older 3 and added Simon Peter Jr, Michael Lee, and Virginia Rose. They lived and worked in Aberdeen for many years before Simon’s untimely death, which left her mourning for the rest of her days.

Betty loved crosswords, word finds, dancing, car races, visiting and meeting the new additions to her growing family. Over the years, her family increased by 21 grandchildren and lots of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, siblings; William Carl Jr, Cheryl Darlene (Phillips), Timothy Joe, children; Tony Gail Kline, and Simon Peter Bercier Jr, along with 3 grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Steve Colungo, Marie (Juan) Vasquez, Pete (Julie) Colungo, Mike Bercier, Virginia Davila, multiple grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Services will be held on Friday, September 9th, 2022, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Aberdeen, Idaho.  A visitation will be at 12:00 p.m. at the church The Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will be at the Aberdeen Cemetery.  

Donations can be made to help pay for funeral costs to Davis-Rose Mortuary in Betty’s name.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Power County Nursing Home for their great care of our Mom and Grandma.
