Bobbie Charles Simms

Bobbie Charles Simms passed away on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at Power County Hospital District in American Falls. He was 95 years old.

Bobbie was born in Roy, Idaho on February 9, 1920 to Charlie and Ethel Simms. He was the oldest of 5 children.

He attended school in Roy and American Falls. While attending high school in American Falls he was active in track and the 4-H Club. He graduated from High School in 1937.

He went on to attend college at Albion State. He was attending college to be a teacher. During college the attack on Pearl Harbor took place in 1941 and he was enlisted within the week.  May 5, 1942 he was a Private 1st class, stationed at Camp Elliot in California for the US Marine Corp. On September 9, 1942 he was promoted to a Corporal later moving to a Sergeant. In May 1943 he was shipped out to the South Pacific. On September 14, 1944 he was stationed at the Saipan Island in the Second tank Battalion Second Marine Division on the field. He served a long hard battle. In 1945 he was able to come home from World War II.

He got a job at the Ford Garage as a mechanic. He worked there until he landed a job at West Vaco, which later was named FMC. He was employed there as the mechanic from July 13, 1950 to March 1, 1985.

Bobbie and Theresa meet at the theater in American Falls, Idaho. They were married December 15, 1946, in Brigham City, Utah. They had three children Karen, Mike and Lynn.

He is survived by his loving wife Theresa Simms, daughter Karen (Jim) Lehman, Mike (Oralia) Simms, Lynn (Roxie) Simms, Grandchildren Robert (Carolyn) Simms, Tracy Simms  (Richard Evans), Danyell (Kyle) Glascock, Michael (Tonya) Simms, Matthew (Sandi) Lehman, Brandy (Jared) Saiz, Kimberly Lehman, and Bobby (Katie) Simms. He also had numerous great Grandchildren.

He is proceded in death by his parents Charlie and Ethel Simms, sisters Margaret  (Toots) Allen, Helen (Dolly) Moss, brothers Kenneth Simms, and Don Simms,  grandchild Adriana Nelson, and  great grandchild Derek Lehman

A viewing will be held Saturday June 6, 2015 at Davis Rose Mortuary at 2:00. The graveside service will be Tuesday June 9, 2015 at Falls View Cemetery at 11:00 with a luncheon to follow at the American Falls District Library.
