Carolyn Taylor Wallace

August 22, 1932 — October 20, 2023

Aberdeen

Carolyn Taylor Wallace, dearly loved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend peacefully passed away surrounded by family on October 20, 2023 in South Jordan, Utah.  She was born to Frank R. and Zettella Taylor on August 22, 1932 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. She married Frank Wallace on July 20, 1953 in the Cardston, Alberta, Temple.

Carolyn’s greatest joys were her family, associating with good friends, and serving in her church and community.  She had many church callings serving in the Primary, Relief Society, and Young Women. She and Frank served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Jacksonville, Florida and Oakland, California. In the community, she was active in the Aberdeen Federated Women’s Club and served on the Aberdeen Library board.  She loved boating, water-skiing, camping, skiing, music, and attending sporting events, especially those involving her children and grandchildren.

She graduated from the University of Utah in 1954 with a degree in Home Economics Education and English. She and Frank purchased the drug store in Aberdeen, Idaho in 1970. Soon Aberdeen became another true love.

Carolyn cherished her husband and her family.  She was known for being dedicated, hardworking and very organized.  She was kind and very supportive of all around her.  She was an amazing seamstress and quilter and she had a love of gardening.  Carolyn was neighborly and welcoming.  She lived with integrity and wisdom.

She is survived by her five children:  Annette Davis (Russell), South Jordan, Utah; Jocelyn Cardona, (Mike) Queen Creek, Arizona; Mark (Patty), Centerville, Utah; Bruce (Lillian) Provo, Utah, currently serving in the Mexico City East Mission; Dwight (Misty), Aberdeen, Idaho; 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and her sister Kathleen Newman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, her brothers Willis and Harlan, her sister Shirley, and her twin Marolyn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28, at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Aberdeen, Idaho with a viewing one hour before.  There will also be a viewing on Friday, October 27, at 6:30 pm at the same location.  Memories, condolences and photos may also be shared at DavisRoseMortuary.com
