Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your helmets and roll up your sleeves because we're here to celebrate the life of Dell "DC" Christiansen, who rode off into the sunset on January 25, 2026. He likely searching for his next big adventure, or possibly just a cup of coffee. Born on December 30, 1952 to Rhea and Bob Christiansen in the bustling metropolis of Ogden, Utah, Dell made it his mission to leave a patch of joy wherever he went—right until the very end.
Now, before we go any further, let’s get one thing straight: Dell was not your average Joe. No, sir! He was a man of many talents, and by "many talents," I mean he could log timber, champion freezing french fries, and ride a motorcycle like a bat out of hell. He worked at Lamb Weston—yes, that magical place where fries are born—before deciding to log in the Ashton area for one of his many uncles. But let’s be honest, he couldn’t resist the siren call of the spud, rejoining Lamb Weston and eventually retiring there, probably while still dreaming about French fries and flowers.
Speaking of flowers, let’s talk about his romantic side—because ladies, Dell was no stranger to the sweeter things in life. He brought home bouquets for his beloved wife Sherry, every few weeks like clockwork, filling the porch with blooms each spring as if he stepped straight out of a romantic comedy. Not only was he proud of his girls and grandchildren, but he also developed an impressive repertoire of teasing the great-granddaughters, a legacy that will continue through the ages—much to their chagrin!
Education? Dell graduated school in Aberdeen, Idaho, which is where he likely learned that life is too short not to have fun—which is pretty evident in his ducking and weaving personality. Dressed in countless wild outfits and swapping motorcycles like baseball cards, he was always keeping family and friends on their toes. Who knew what kind of trouble he’d get into next? Despite his devil-may-care attitude, he was known for his generosity, often offering to give the shirt off his back—even if it meant walking around shirtless for the day!
He made sure that no one in his world ever went without during the holidays, showing up on his Harley dressed as Santa to deliver gifts and meals to those in need—because who could resist a jolly old elf on a motorcycle? If you ever needed something, be it an antique license plate or a Betty Boop collectible, Dell’s attic was the treasure trove you didn’t know you needed.
Dell is survived by his adoring wife, Sherry, and their grown-up daughters, Hannah and Jennifer (married to Marc, don't get confused now). He will be missed by his father Bob Christiansen and his wife Lila. He leaves behind a bunch of proud grandchildren who were probably raised on tales of his many escapades, including Stratton Dell Ross, Deanna Davis, Jessica (married to Ken), Tristan Simpkins, Georgie Richardson, and Maddie Richardson. His legacy of mischief also includes two fabulous great-granddaughters, Haylin Mauch and Brooklyn Wyke, plus a whole cast of characters, including his brother J.Ed (Julia) Christiansen, Bobette Funk (married to Bill), and an extensive network of cousins, nieces and nephews who will probably tell stories about him long after we’re gone.
As for those who left before him—his mother Rhea, his son Gary, and his brother-in-law Rex—don’t fret, DC will keep them on their toes while they swoon over his motorcycle maneuvers in the afterlife! He will spend his time gardening with his mother from whom he got his love of flowers, and chasing his other two great granddaughters Jenna and Athena, spoiling, teasing and loving them like he did the rest of us.
Dell’s passing leaves a hole in our hearts that we'll fill with laughter, stories, and the occasional comic mishap, because if he taught us anything, it’s that life should be full of wild adventures, laughter ringing in the air, and more flowers than a garden center can handle. Cheers to you, DC! May you ride forever on the wild side!
Dell's final wish was to be cremated and we honored that wish. The family will plan a spring celebration of life tentatively May 2nd so we can take him for a final ride around "the loop" one last time on of one of his beloved Harleys.
