Emma Jean Mauch, (Jean) beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. Jean was born on March 21, 1934, in American Falls, Idaho. Jean attended schools in American Falls, where she began to cultivate her love for creativity and art. Throughout her life, Jean made significant contributions to her family and community, through both her career and personal endeavors. Jean married the love of her life, Walter Mauch, and together they raised three children on the family farm. Jean worked alongside Walter in the fields, driving truck and then cooking for the family and crew. Jean worked for Tim's Truck and Tractor doing the bookwork for many years. Jean used the name BZLady as she loved to be busy and delved into many other business ventures along the way. In later years, Jean's spirit was led to open up her own art gallery, Spring Hollow Ranch and Gallery, here in American Falls. She cultivated a love for the arts in the community with painting classes, taught by herself, as well as other well acclaimed artists from around the country. Jean's creativity extended into her hobbies which included square dancing with Walt (for which she hand-crafted their outfits), cooking, bowling on a league, coaching youth bowling, ceramics, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and socializing with friends and family. Jean was also a member of the AF Sharps for many years. Jean and Walt had a love for travel and ventured to numerous places including Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. Together they were snowbirds, traveling between Arizona and Idaho. Square dancing took them all over the US and they even square danced in an airplane to earn a High Flyers Club badge. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Walter Mauch; Son Gary Mauch (Kate); Daughter Pamela Barnard; Son Harley Mauch (Louise); Sister Joyce Crockett; as well as her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Rebecca Alston, her brothers Alvin, Edwin, and John Alston, and her sister Alta Mae(Sis) Curtis. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
