On September 28th, 2025 close to noon, Freddie Ralph Roads passed away at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho of natural causes. Freddie was 73 years old. He was born May 22nd, 1952 in Munich Germany.
Freddie was adopted at an early age and lived most of his childhood with his adopted parents, Ralph Gilbert Roads, and Maria Adam Roads in Salmon Idaho. He graduated from Salmon High School in 1971. He worked several years at Williams Lake Resort. He worked for the forest service as a wildland firefighter for some time and trimmed trees for Davie Tree Co. Freddie married the love of his life and wife of 45 years Marcia Roads on June 14th, 1980. Their union also included their son Gregory.
Freddie grew up fishing and hunting in the Salmon area. He carried his love for the outdoors through his entire life. Fishing and camping with his wife and family were some of his favorite activities. He really enjoyed time spent on the Salmon River in Idaho and many rivers in Alaska. He also had a passion for fast cars, vintage planes, and motorcycles. He enjoyed restoring cars and motorcycles, and cared deeply for the old Chevelles.
Freddie enjoyed sharing stories with friends and family and appreciated having good company around to converse with. This was very evident while he owned Freddie’s Roadhouse.
Freddie was able to reconnect with his German family later in life and remained in contact with them until he passed.
Freddie is survived by his wife Marcia Roads, Son Greg, Daughter-in-law Jaime, and grandson Easton. He is also survived by his family in Germany including sisters Erika Kohn, Petra Heimmerer, Gisela Engelhardt, and brother Peter Engelhardt.
