Howard Ringe, a man whose life was defined by tireless dedication, unwavering honesty, and a deep love for family and craft, passed away at his home in American Falls, Idaho, on May 12, 2026. Born on May 21, 1943, in Las Vegas, Howard's journey was marked by hard work, ingenuity, and an enduring passion for welding and fabrication.
Howard devoted 31 years of steadfast service to the City of North Las Vegas Utilities Department, beginning his career in 1962 as a laborer before advancing to roles as a mechanic and welder. His expertise and commitment were recognized through his certification in Waukesha well pump operation, a testament to the skill he brought to every task. Yet, his retirement was not the end of his calling—it was merely a new chapter. Embracing his passion, Howard established a second career in custom metal fabrication and welding, specializing with remarkable skill in racecar chassis. This work was more than a profession; it was an extension of his soul.
The pride Howard took in his craft was evident in the joy he experienced watching cars race at the Bullring, the 3/8 mile track in Las Vegas, knowing he had directly contributed to their strength and speed through his welding. Offroad racing was another shared delight, particularly under his own HART racing label, where Howard joined adventures with his beloved wife. He was also a lifelong learner, embracing hobbies such as basic carpentry and constantly seeking new skills to challenge and fulfill him.
Despite his often stubborn nature, Howard’s heart was generous and honest. He was always willing to lend a hand, driven by good intentions and an uncommon way of showing love—sometimes unconventional but always deeply felt. Those who knew him cherish memories of vacations immersed in nature’s tranquility and the vibrant stories from his childhood, reflecting on the friendships and family ties that shaped him.
Howard’s proudest accomplishment arrived in retirement when he moved to Idaho, finally creating the shop he had long dreamed of. There, he found joy and challenge in every project—a true sanctuary where his talents and passions flourished.
Howard leaves behind a living legacy of love and family. His daughter, Tina Ringe, along with his grandchildren Jakob Dahlman, Ashlie Ferrell, and Demeetria Dahlman, and great-grandchildren Jonathan, Nikolas, Brianna, Roxzanna, Tucker, and Tobin carry forward his spirit. His brother Roland Ringe also survives him, holding close the memories they shared. The loss is intensified by the passing of those dear to him before—his beloved wife Arlene Ringe, his parents Peter and Nora Ringe, and brother Virgil Dennis.
In late 2025, Howard faced the battle of stage 4 cancer, bravely attempting chemotherapy though ultimately halted by other health complications. Through this final challenge, his strength and dignity never faltered.
Howard Ringe’s story is etched not only in the metal he welded but also in the hearts he touched. His legacy is a tapestry of resilience, passion, and love—a life deeply lived and profoundly missed.
