American Fall

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce Annette McDonnell (Ankrum), who left us on June 4th, 2025, at the Power County Nursing Home following a long-term illness. She was 77.

Born on May 31, 1948, Annette was woman of strength, grit, and quiet humor. She spent the past 40 years in Aberdeen, Idaho, building a life rooted in hard work, family, and love, building a life rooted in hard work, family, and love. Her career path was as unique and determined as she was - working at the Simplot Plant, serving as a guard at the Bingham County Jail, and later taking to the open road as a over-the-road truck driver alongside her beloved husband, Ken. Together, they logged countless miles, creating memories and collection trucks stop stories that became treasured tales at family gatherings.

Annette found great joy in retirement, finally home to tend to the things that brought her peace – working in her yard, nurturing her garden, camping with Ken and her brother Glenn, and gathering with her family, A devoted community member, she proudly served on the local library board and volunteered at the food bank, always giving quietly and wholeheartedly.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ken McDonnell; her brother, Glenn Ankrum; her Children: Cheree (Matt) Lebrecht, Stuart (Kim) Robb, Rusty Robb, and Kurtis (Amy) Kress; and her grandchildren: Avery (Avery), Andrew, Alex Lebrecht, Nic & Kegan Robb, and Payton, Jaxon, Logan (Saige), and Taylor Kress. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Kohen Kress and Michael James Moats. Each one of them carries a piece of her legacy – Her stories, her Strenght, and her unwavering love.

Annette will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her. Her memory lives on in every flower blooming in her garden, every family story passed down, and every act of quiet kindness shared in her honor.
