Joyce Elaine Lambert

Joyce Elaine Lambert, 66, American Falls, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Portneuf Medical Center.  She was born May 16, 1947 in Caldwell, Idaho to Dean Strange and Jean Gardner Strange.

There they raised her and her three younger sisters Shirley, Sheila, and NaDean in a very loving home.

With three younger sisters, teaching came natural to Joyce. At a young age she began preparing for her lifetime career as a teacher.  After graduating from Caldwell High School Joyce worked two jobs to put herself through college. Joyce graduated in 1970 with her teaching degree from Boise State University.  While teaching in Kuna, Idaho Joyce met and married the love of her life Dan Lambert of Shelly, Idaho. The two moved to American Falls with Joyce teaching elementary school in Pocatello.    Later Joyce found her home at Hillcrest Elementary School in American Falls where she taught 1st grade for 23 years.  While in American Falls, Dan and Joyce raised their boys Mike and Trever Lambert.  In recent years Joyce and Dan took on a new endeavor, a guardianship of Audesty Bingham whom they raised as one of their own.

After Joyce was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, she continued teaching up until the point that she was no longer steady on her feet. Joyce never complained about her pain, and continued to make personal sacrifices for her students and her community.

Joyce was known for her care and consideration towards others as well as her writing, storytelling, and scrap-booking. Joyce deeply loved teaching children, her family, and above all her relationship with Jehovah God.

She is survived by her husband, Danny “Dan” Lambert, American. Falls.  Her parents, Dean and Jean Strange-Caldwell, ID, her sons Michael “Mike,” (Holly Lindauer) Lambert, Boise, ID and Trever Lambert, (Amy Stephens),Caldwell, ID,.
