Keith Phillips passed away, Friday January 23, 2026, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was the third child and son born to Leonard and Bernice Jorgenson Phillips in Aberdeen, Idaho in 1939. He spent his childhood on the farm learning to work hard and play hard.
He loved basketball and was on the Aberdeen High School team. He admired his teammates and remained in touch with them throughout his life. He worked for T.S. Vanderford and earned enough money to buy his 1957 Pontiac Chief, which was forever his favorite car.
He married Donna Vanderford in 1958 and together they built a beautiful family: Kim (Joan), Kerry (Ronda), Karalee (Mark), Kevin (Tania), Jennifer (Robert) & Jeffrey (Jamie). They also parented Roberta Parkhurst (Randy) Brandel. They lived in Aberdeen and there became active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They were sealed as a family on March 28, 1964. He bought a farm in Pleasant Valley in 1973 and spent the rest of his life there.
Keith loved flying, farming, fishing, family, and friends. He was the man capable of building or fixing anything and everything.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a Bishop of the American Falls 1st Ward twice. He spent countless hours serving and helping those in his ward and his family. His was a life of service, spending the last several years caring for Donna.
Keith was a truly good and honorable man and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He leaves a legacy of goodness and perseverance that is truly admirable.
He was preceded in death by his son Kim. He leaves behind a posterity that includes 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at LifeCare Center of Idaho Falls for their great care for Keith in the last days of his life.
A visitation will be from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday January 29 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in American Falls. Another visitation will be from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Friday January 30. The funeral will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Aberdeen Cemetery.
