Aberdeen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Phillips, 85, who crossed the final finish line on May 17, 2026. He lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for agriculture and horses.

Larry was born on March 22, 1941, in American Falls, Idaho, where he was raised with a strong work ethic and a lasting appreciation for the land. Throughout his life, he devoted himself to farming and ranching, finding purpose in the daily demands of working the soil and caring for livestock.

In addition to his work in agriculture, Larry had a lifelong passion for quarter horses and horse racing. He took great pride in breeding, owning, and following the sport. He maintained a strong and practical knowledge of horses and agriculture and found enjoyment in hunting and fishing. He was widely respected for his honest judgment and straightforward advice.

Larry was known for his honesty, his strong opinions, and his willingness to share both stories and guidance with those around him. He valued hard work, integrity, and perseverance, and those qualities were reflected in the life he built.

Larry is survived by his children, Debi (Tony) O’Neal, John Phillips, and Mendi Bradley; his grandchildren, Nadia (Arsenio) Saakyan, Michael Permann, Mckinnon (Anthony) Pfeifer, and Jase (Gloria) Bradley; and his great-grandchildren, Jaden Archer, Avianna Saakyan, Jace Pfeifer, Jetta Pfeifer, and Joezi Pfeifer. He is also survived by his siblings, Earl Phillips, Carl Phillips, Kenneth (Nancy) Phillips, Paul (Marianne) Phillips, and Jeannette Phillips.

All will deeply miss his presence, guidance, and companionship.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judi Phillips; his mother, Bernice Phillips; his father, Leonard Phillips; and his brother, Keith Phillips.
