Logan Taylor, born October 30, 1977, in Pocatello, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2026, at his home in American Falls, Idaho, due to heart failure. Logan's life was marked by a profound dedication to his family, hard work, and fun leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Logan grew up a typical "latch key" kid spending most of his day riding his prized Huffy bike with friends around the towns of Burley, Salmon, and American Falls. But his favorite moments were spending time with his Grandpa Don and Grandma Alene Benson on their Rockland Ranch and Fall Creek area. There he developed a love for hard work, farming, fishing, and fun with his rowdy Benson and Funk cousins.

It was in school at American Falls, that he found many true and lifelong friends and a love for sports and competition. He was a proud graduate of American Falls High School and went on to earn a B.S. degree in Biology from Idaho State University in 2003. His love of science laid the foundation for a career intertwined with agriculture and community. Beginning with his work in soil science at NuEarth Soil Solutions and continuing over the years with his roles at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in the Farm Loan Program and Rural Development initiatives, he was able to help foster growth and sustainability in farming communities he loved.

Logan’s identity was most firmly rooted in his relationships with friends and family, which he cherished throughout his life. He was known for his exuberant personality—always the life of the party, greeting friends and strangers alike with a warm hug and a witty comment. His hobbies reflected his diverse interests and zest for life. He was an avid collector of Nike Air Jordan shoes and basketball cards; enjoyed summer evening golfing with family and the AF Men's League; he was always the best DJ at a house party; a chef and grill master extraordinaire; and was the BIG LEADER on the Mario Kart Chart during his college years. His passion for video gaming later became a cherished bond with his sons, whom he lovingly challenged and inspired with his playful mastery. Additionally, as an amateur astronomer, Logan found joy beneath the night sky, gazing through his telescopes and sharing the wonders of the cosmos with those around him.

At the heart of Logan’s life was his unwavering devotion to his family. He and Jacklyn (Tiede) Taylor, his soulmate and lifelong partner, first met in middle school and began their courtship in 1993. Their love blossomed and adventures together endured for over three decades, with their bond a constant presence in the lives they touched. Logan was a devoted father to his children, Benson Taylor and Jameson Taylor, instilling in them a love for sports and active participation. His commitment extended into his community as he helped coach American Falls Youth Sports for ten years, playing a pivotal role in guiding many young athletes toward numerous victories and teaching the values of teamwork and perseverance.

Logan is preceded in death by his grandparents Don and Alene Benson, his mother Donna Benson Schofield, and his father Ron Taylor. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his devoted wife Jacklyn Taylor; his sons Benson and Jameson; his father- and mother-in-law, James and Debbie Tiede; his sisters-in-law Meredith (Sony) Galvan and their children Jeffrey and Jesselle; Erin (Thomas) Kress and their children Alaira, Amelia, and Korbin; and Alex (Koryl) Tiede; as well as numerous cousins and friends who held him dear.

The depth of Logan's character was evident to all. Everyone who knew him recognized that there was never a Logan without Jackie, nor a Jackie without Logan — a testament to their inseparably intertwined lives for 33 years. And there was never a more proud father of the two boys that were the highlight of his life's success.
