Lois Klassen

Our Mother, Lois Klassen, whose warm heart and welcoming spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, in Edgewood, American Falls. Born on December 25, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lois embraced life with a generous heart and a dedication to hospitality reflecting the heart of her Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.

From her earliest days, Lois found joy in making those around her feel at home. Hospitality was not just a practice but a true priority in her life. Her door was always open, her table always set lovingly for anyone who needed welcome. She took great pleasure in crafting a home that was not just comfortable but truly inviting, a quiet sanctuary where friends and family gathered, stories were shared, and laughter filled the air.

Lois was a woman of many talents, devoted to the arts of homemaking. Sewing, cooking, and canning were expressions of her love. She delighted in handwork of every kind, from delicate stitchery to larger projects that reflected her creative spirit and steady hands. Gardening brought her satisfaction of providing for her family while every homemaking endeavor blossomed with her personal touch.

Her enduring legacy is not just in the warmth she created, but also in the loving family she leaves behind. She is survived by her sons Steve and his wife Barb, Jane and her husband Ralph, and John with his wife Kathy. Her love and devotion also embrace twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were cherished deeply by Lois. She taught us that with the Lord as our strength, we can be brave and keep going when life got difficult.

Friends and family will have the opportunity to honor her memory at a visitation on May 30th, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in The Meeting Room, located at 301 N 4th W in Aberdeen, Idaho. This will be followed immediately by a funeral service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. At 3:15 p.m., Lois will be laid to rest at the Homestead Cemetery. Afterwards a light meal will be served at the Meeting Room.

Our Mother's life was a testament to the beauty of welcome and the power of kindness. She loved everyone and held no grudges . Those privileged to have known her carried away not only memories but the enduring lesson that a home filled with love becomes a sanctuary for all. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of finding strength in her joy of the Lord Jesus Christ, her Saviour, will follow her. Even with her weakening mind and body she found courage in the verse "The joy of the Lord is your Strength." Nehemiah 8:10
