Maria Mayela Ortiz Cortez

Maria Mayela Ortiz Cortez of American Falls passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. She was born on February 5, 1961 in Tanhuato Michoacan Mexico to Esther Cortez and Ignacio Ortiz. She was the 7th of fourteen children. Maria moved to the United States during the the 1980s and lived very happily in Los Angeles, Ca with her husband and two children. In 2005 she and her family moved to American Falls, Id where she lived the rest of her life. She fought a battle against cancer for almost two years. Now she is resting in peace with God and her mother. Maria will be accompanied at her ceremony by her husband, Jose L. Sanchez, her daughter Juanita, her son Alejandro and all her family and friends.

Both the Rosary and Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in American Falls.  The Rosary will be  at 6:00 pm Sunday, October 2 and the Mass will be 10:00 am Monday, October 3. Interment will follow the Mass at Falls View Cemetery.




María Máyela Ortiz de American Falls falleció en paz el miércoles 28 de septiembre 2016. Ella nació el 5 de febrero de 1961, en Tanhuato Michoacán México a Esther Cortez y Ignacio Ortiz. Era la séptima de catorce hijos. María se trasladó a los Estado Unidos durante la década de los 80 y vivió muy feliz en Los Angeles, California, con su esposo y sus do hijos. En 2005 ella y su familia se trasladó a American Falls, Idaho, donde vivió el resto de su vida. Ella luchó conta el cancer durante casi do años. Ahora ella está descansando en paz con Dios y su madre. María va a ser acompañada en la ceremonia por su marido, José L. Sánchez, su hija Juanita, su hijo Alejandro, y toda su familia y amigos.

Tanto el Rosario y la Misa se llavarán a cabo en la iglesia católica de St. Mary’s en American Falls. El Rosario será el domingo 2 de Octubre a las 6:00 pm. La misa será el lune 3 de Octubre a las 10:00 am continuando con el servicio de entierro en el cementerio Falls View.
