Mark Fehringer

Mark Fehringer, beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 12, 2026, in American Falls, Idaho, at the age of 94. Mark was born in Peetz, Colorado on March 3, 1931, to Leo and Angela Fehringer. He was the fifth of ten children. Mark's life was characterized by a deep commitment to family, service to church and community.

Mark married Ginger Johnson in 1955, and together they built a nurturing home filled with love and laughter while raising their six children: Donna, Rick, Alan, Joyce, Jane, and Janice. Mark took great joy in his role as a grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, leaving behind a legacy that includes 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In 1955, Mark and his brother Arnold became the first members of the Fehringer family to migrate to Southeastern Idaho shortly after his marriage to Ginger, where the family farm flourished for decades under his guidance. A devoted patriot, Mark served in the United States Army at a post in Germany for 2 years. Upon returning home, he was in Inactive Reserves until 1960 when he received his honorable discharge from the Armed Forces. His dedication to his country continued as a member of the American Legion since March 15, 1955.

Mark lived a life marked by a strong sense of faith, kindness and integrity. He was known for his warm smile, unyielding work ethic, and a creative sense of humor. His favorite pastimes were woodworking, collecting and repairing antique clocks, raising domestic elk and traveling. His presence will be profoundly missed by his family and friends, but the memories of his love and laughter will be cherished forever.

Mark is survived by his loving children: Donna (Ray) Polzin, Rick (Peggy) Fehringer, Joyce (Mike) Lopez, Jane (Ron) Brug, and Janice Fehringer. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ginger; son, Alan; and grandson, Mark Polzin. Mark's life was a testament to his values of hard work, love, and unwavering support for his family, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

The family thanks the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living and Symbii Hospice for the loving care provided to Mark this past year.

On January 24th, all are invited to gather for visitation with the family at Davis-Rose Mortuary from 10:00 - 11:00, followed by graveside services at The Falls View Cemetery. A luncheon, compliments of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will be provided in the church basement.  Catholic mass on Sunday, January 25, will be dedicated to Mark.
