Patricia Elaine Spiker passed away quietly on July 11, 2026 in Pocatello, Idaho from complications of Parkinson's and Dementia. 

Patricia, "Pat", was born November 19, 1940 in American Falls, Idaho to Allen D. and Evelyn Schneider Roper, the second of seven children. 

Pat was raised on the family farm/ranch in the Lower Rock Creek of Rockland, Idaho.  She grew to have a life long love of horses and rode all the time.  She was the American Falls Rodeo Queen when she was 13 or 14 years old. She also stayed busy with drill team and cheerleading while attending school.  After graduating from American Falls High School, Pat attended Grimms Business College.  She worked in the secretarial field the rest of her adult life.  She worked for Drs. McMann & Merkley in Pocatello for some time then worked for many years as a dispatcher/secretary for the Idaho State Police.  She retired from Idaho State University's Technical Education Division. 

On September 3, 1960, Pat married David William Spiker from Pocatello. They made their home in Pocatello until 1988 when they moved to American Falls.  Dave and Pat have 4 children, Daniel, David, Elizabeth. and John.

Pat joined the Silver Sage Riding Posse and later on joined the Chapparel Riding Club.  Her most beloved horse was "BayBoy", a Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse cross.  She had a horse to care for most of her life and even rode after retirement. Horses are what gave her the most joy and pleasure in her life. 

Patricia is survived by her children, Daniel Spiker (Kim) of Georgia, David Spiker (Narkis) of Texas/Israel, Elizabeth Pitchford (Randy) of Bennington, Idaho and John Spiker (Jodie) of Meridian, Idaho. Grandchildren Janelle, Ben, Matthew, Alana, Valerie, Samantha, Brady, Kade, Kaden, Alexa and Krew, and 13 Great grandkids. Sisters Jackie Kildew of American Falls, Bonnie Anderson of Rockland, Janelle Roper of Rockland and brother Lance Roper of Rockland. 

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Allen and Evelyn, brothers Bob Roper and Bill Roper and grandson Braxton Pitchford. 

Funeral services will be under the direction of Davis-Rose Mortuary in American Falls, Idaho.  A viewing will be on Friday at 10-11am with a graveside service following at the American Falls cemetery.  A luncheon will be provided by the American Falls Fourth Ward at 650 Pocatello Avenue in American Falls.
