PAULINE LARSEN POULSON
January 6, 1934 – June 26, 2026
Mom, 92, passed away on June 26, 2026, at her home in Rockland, Idaho with her kids by her side. Born on January 6, 1934, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Milt and Vera Larsen, she was the third of four children. Pauline grew up in Arcadia, Utah, cherishing her time with older sisters Erna and June and younger brother Gale. The community was rich with extended family, and her cousins became lifelong friends.
After attending BYU for two years, she worked as a secretary at Union High School in Roosevelt, where she had graduated.
In 1955 she met Milton Poulson, and they were sealed on November 9th in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised six children—Lorri, Cris, Jan, Jill, Malyn, and Todd—in Duchesne, in Paragonah, and finally Rockland, Idaho. Pauline worked as the Rockland School librarian for several years and enjoyed interacting with the kids.
She loved music, singing, and playing the piano, always finding ways to make life fun and memorable. Pauline enjoyed traveling and attending the temple often.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various callings, including stake Primary President, and completed four missions: as a stake missionary before marriage, two with Dad (Adam-Ondi-Ahman, Missouri, and the Member Location Mission in St. George, Utah), and one at the FamilySearch Center in Salt Lake City after Dad’s passing. Her missions were cherished experiences!
Mom is survived by her children, Lorri (John) Robinson, Rockland, Idaho, Cris (Carol) Poulson, Adams County, Colorado, Jan (John) Gilbert, Richmond, Utah, Jill (Gene) Nelson, Rockland, Idaho, Rex (Dee) Johnson, Bern, Idaho, and Todd (Janae) Poulson, Layton, Utah. She has 24 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents and siblings, her husband, Milton, Malyn Johnson, daughter, Matthew Gilbert, grandson, and Olivia Hunsaker, great-granddaughter.
The family thanks Mom’s wonderful neighbors and the Rockland community for their love and caring support.
A visitation will be from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Monday July 6, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rockland. The funeral will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery.
