American Falls

Philip Marvin Burley was born on June 14, 1943, the oldest son of Charlotte Stephan Burley and Marvin Burley in Caldwell, Idaho on flag day, which was very important to him.

Phil attended schools in Greenleaf and Meridian, Idaho.  At the age of 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as a radioman aboard the USS Washburn. He had many memories of his Navy life and always was proud of serving.  When he returned home, he joined the Air Force National Guard where he served 20 years for full retirement.

He Married Mary Severe in Boise, Idaho in 1965.  To that union were born three girls, the blonde, the redhead, and the brunette, all three the loves of his life.  They made their home around the Twin Falls, Gooding, and Jerome area where Phil worked for the forest service, at the Frontier Bar, The Gooding County Leader and Scott-Polar, they later divorced.

In 1988 Phil went to work for Pameco Refrigeration in Pocatello.  It was at this time he met his sweetheart, Glenda.  They spent 10 wonderful years together before he convinced her to marry and on September 17, 1997, they married in the backyard paradise of their home.

Phil went to work in American Falls at Ramsey repair where he was the counter man.  He also joined Glenda in operating her Business “Wickhorst Enterprises” where he learned a lot about being a garden center operator and florist.  He worked hard to make it a success and it also became his life, until they retired in 2006.

At that time, they bought a motorhome and started to enjoy life.  They spent many winters at Lake Havasu, Arizona & Needles, California where they made many lasting friends.  Later they spent years in Bullhead City AZ and enjoyed many precious friends. Phil loved to Cruise from his Navy days, and together he and Glenda went on many cruises.  Most important was that he wanted to take Glenda through the Panama Canal which they did in 2009.  Some of the other places where Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, Aruba, western Caribbean, Mexico, and others.

Phil is survived by his three daughters, Shannon, Rayna & Ovvie 1 brother Marlin, and 3 grandchildren.

Preceding him on the journey were his parents, Marvin and Charlotte Burley, and his sister Pam.
