Ray Owen McLean passed away in Rockland, Idaho surrounded by his family on Tuesday May 8, 2012.  Ray was born November 9, 1923 in Landing Idaho, in the Rock House to Thomas Daniel and Edith Hannah Hadley McLean.  Ray was the 8th child in a family of 9.  He attended the Landing School.  Ray loved horses and bareback riding, and rode with the Rockland Posse as well as the Aberdeen Boots and Saddle for many years.

On October 1, 1949 Ray married his wife of 62 years, Evalyne Thorne.  They started their life together in a little log cabin that is still standing today at the foot of Mollies Nipple.  Ray and Evalyne were blessed with 7 loving and very energetic children.   All 7 children were raised in the Rockland Valley.  After retirement, Ray and Evalyne enjoyed camping, fishing and family.  Ray is survived by his wife Evalyne.  His 7 children: Myrle (Kathy) McLean, James (Cindy) McLean, EvaRae (Chuck) Bybee, LaMont (Mary) McLean, Irvan (Kathy) McLean, Tammie (LeRoy) Phillips, Kim (Jeanne) McLean, 23 grandchildren, 43 great grand children, & 2 great great grandchildren.  Ray was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 5 sisters.  There will be a graveside service at the Rockland Valley View Cemetery on Saturday May 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
