Richardo "Dario" Gurrola

Richardo "Dario" Guzman Gurrola, age 76, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in El Paso, Texas, on October 18, 1949, Dario was raised in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. A man of deep faith, strong work ethic, and extraordinary artistic talent, Dario lived a life enriched by music, artistic expression, and an unwavering devotion to his family and spirituality.

Dario spent many dedicated years working for Driscoll’s, where his strong work ethic and steady nature were admired by all who worked alongside him. Beyond his work, Dario had the soul of an artist. He expressed his warmth and creativity through his art, and he was happiest when listening to music and dancing. Known for his gentle spirit, Dario treated everyone he met—friends, family, and strangers alike—with genuine kindness and respect.

Dario’s perspective on life was reflected in his favorite quote: "Life is like a dream; to live is to die, to die is to awaken."

He was united in marriage with his beloved wife, Miranda Johnson Gurrola, on July 14, 1999. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and family.

Dario is survived by his wife, Miranda Johnson Gurrola; his children, Harland Justin Gurrola, and Elvina Maria Gurrola and her husband, Toni Sears Sr.; his cherished grandchildren, Eric Shoban Hernandez Gurrola, Odie Gurrola, Lavender Scott Gurrola, Toni Sears Gurrola, Jaxson Gurrola, and Jason Gurrola; and his great-grandchildren, Lee Engabo and Kaden Engabo.

He is also survived by his siblings and loving extended family: Fernando Gurrola Guzman, Ruben Guzman (Michelle Rebecca Guzman), Yolanda A. Guzman, Juan de Dios Gurrola Guzman, Silvia Alicia Martinez Gutierrez (Ruben Gutierrez), Alma Rosa Martinez, Lorenzo Martinez (Betty Mendez), Jose Victor Martinez, Maricela Martinez, and Veronica Martinez (Abraham Rodriguez), along with a legacy of many beloved nieces and nephews.

Dario’s artistic soul, joyful dancing, and kind heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered

A visitation will be from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Monday September 21 at American Falls Christian Fellowship, in 329 Harrison ST. The funeral will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Falls View Cemetery.
