Robert "BOB" Ray Spillett Jr.

Robert Ray Spillett JR. (Bob) 67 of Rockland, Idaho passed away peacefully on May 28,2026.

Bob was born on August 8th, 1958 in Pocatello Idaho to Robert Ray Spillett and Ellen Rae Shipp Spillett. He was the first of their 6 children.

Bob attended Rockland School and graduated in 1977. While in high school he enjoyed and excelled in all shop related classes and was usually in a pair of coveralls throughout the day. While in high school he began working for Ron Farr which went from a working relationship to a lifelong friendship.

After high school all those shop classes paid off because he got a job at Don Davies Automotive doing what he loved. During his work there he would go across the street to Taco Time for lunch and that's where he met Carol Porter.

They shared a love of hunting and being outdoors. They were married on June 5th, 1981. Bob later went to work at Lamb Weston, and over the next several years welcomed 6 children into their home in Rockland. They loved hunting, snowmobiling, horse riding and getting firewood as a family. They always had animals, wild and domestic to care for. Bob and Carol later divorced.

Bob later moved to Boise and while living there met Madalyn Stropkai. As they say you can take the farm boy from the country but you can never take the country from the farm boy. Even though they lived in the middle of the city Bob quickly introduced Madalyn to farm life. Bob built the fanciest chicken coop ever and they had chickens, ducks along with several dogs. Bob loved his dogs Ralph and Gizmo.

Due to Bob's declining health they moved to Rockland. Madalyn became Bob's caregiver over the next several years. They recently married on April 16th, 2026.

Bob is preceded in death by his Dad Robert Ray Spillett and grandson Bouncy (Ben and Jess) Spillett.

He is survived by his mother Ellen Rae Shipp Spillett, his wife Madalyn Stropkia-Spillett, 6 children Ben (Jess) Spillett, Robin (Chad) Clark, Nikki (Chris) Burry, Jake Spillett, Amanda (Cody) Hidalgo, Katie (Bronco) Adkins, 14 grandchildren, 4 sisters Gina (Steve) Scheringer, Donna (Cory) McCall, Shelly (Ben) Bailey, Shon (Fred) Olsen and 1 brother Ron (Lynn) Spillett.

The family would like to thank all those in the community that have helped with caring for Bob. We would also like to thank Symbii Hospice and Home Health for their kind services.

Funeral Services will be held June 4th, 2026. Visitation will be 10:00 am with the funeral at 11:00 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 405 E. Shoshone in Rockland, Idaho. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery.
