Roger F. Maisch, a devoted farmer, beloved family man, and committed member of the Aberdeen First Mennonite Church, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the Edgewood Assisted Living Center in American Falls, Idaho. Born on March 6, 1941, in American Falls, Roger’s life was marked by a profound love for the land, an unwavering work ethic, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew him.

Roger graduated from Aberdeen High School, where his talents shone brightly as a standout athlete in both football and basketball. His passion for farming defined his purpose and daily life, nurturing the earth with care and dedication. Beyond his work in the fields, Roger took great joy in cultivating a beautiful garden, creating a vibrant space filled with blooming flowers that reflected his nurturing heart.

A man of the wilderness, Roger cherished the quiet solace found in hunting and camping, finding peace and renewal in nature’s embrace. His connection to the outdoors was a vital part of who he was, underscoring a life lived in harmony with the world around him.

Roger’s faith was central to his identity. As a devoted man of God, he was an active and cherished member of the Aberdeen First Mennonite Church, serving in numerous roles and supporting his church family with kindness and grace. His commitment to his faith community was a testament to his deep sense of service and humility.

Those who knew Roger will remember him for his warm and open nature—he never met a stranger. His generosity with his time and resources extended freely to family, friends, and neighbors alike. Roger’s smile, infectious and genuine, was a reflection of his compassionate soul. His life’s mission was clear: to serve others ahead of himself, embodying kindness, compassion, and grace in every interaction.

Roger is survived by his sister, Sue Maisch of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and his brother, Dave Maisch of Tucson, Arizona. He also leaves behind his son, John Schroeder; grandchildren Gunnar Maisch, Hallie Schneidin, Sailor Maisch, Tanya Hall, and Zack Muirbrook; all of whom carry forward his legacy of love and dedication. The family wishes to extend special acknowledgment and heartfelt gratitude to his son-in-law, Paul Muirbrook, who provided invaluable care and support to Roger in recent years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Valera Maisch; sisters Maryann Jessup and Judy Shackleford; son Jason Maisch; and daughters Pam Muirbrook and Gwen Kiggins.

Roger F. Maisch’s life was a beacon of integrity, faith, and generosity. His memory will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him—a testament to a life well-lived in service to family, faith, and community.
