American Falls

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Seth Ryan Lounsbury unexpectantly passed away October 6th in Old Westbury Village, NY at the young age of 48 years old. A beloved son, brother, uncle, and a true friend to many….

On New Years Eve in 1976, Seth rang in the New Year as Gary and Rhea Lounsbury welcomed their first of three children. Seth was born in American Falls, ID and grew up in the small town of American Falls where his circle of friends started to grow. Living that small town life Seth was involved in Cub and Eagle Scouts, 4-H, DECA, golfing, (he made a hole-in-one at age 13 ) raising German Schnauzers, hanging out on the farm, and occasionally borrowing Uncle Carl’s Porsche and cruising the town. After graduating from American Falls High School, Seth attended Idaho State University where he received his degree in Political Science. He also pursued his Masters at George Washington University. While attending ISU, Seth joined Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity where his circle grew incredibly more and created lifelong friendships. After college Seth dove into politics, working for the Democratic Party in Idaho, Arizona, California, and eventually his home in New York City. Seth worked tirelessly amongst peers as a Field Organizer/Director for the Democratic Party, along with being Campaign Manager for Richard Stallings in 2014. He worked with Suffolk County and Nassau County Legislative bodies, andmany other positions in the New York area. At his passing, Seth worked for the Nassau County Election Board. Along Seth’s journey he encountered many lives making lasting friendships along the way wherever he went. During Seths time away from work he enjoyed tormenting his nieces and nephews, pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a chef and meeting up with friends over their favorite drink or an occasional cigar.

Seth is survived by his parents Gary & Rhea of Twin Falls, ID, brother Chad (Nicole) of Thorton, CO, Nick (Allison) Magnuson of Seattle, WA, nephews, Maddux, Keagin, Josh, Alex, Nieko and Asher. Nieces Bria, Ellie, Hayden and Isabelalong with Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and of course many close friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Scotty, Grandma and Grandpa Hofmeister, Grandma and Grandpa Lounsbury.Seth was Grandma Hofmeister’s caregiver for two years before her passing. Proving his dedication to family.

Thank you, Nick, our brother, son, wonderful friend for writing this tribute to our son and brother, Seth. Your compassion and love helps to fill our emptiness. Love you,Mom, Pops, Chad, Nicole Lounsbury.
