Wilma Ruth Kendall

Wilma Ruth Kendall, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2010, in Quincy, WA.
Wilma was born in Trilby, Ohio on Dec 2, 1927 to August and Helen Schultz. In 1943, she moved to Aberdeen, Idaho. She took care of the Dick and Betty Davis family while in high school, later going to work in their restaurant. She also worked in potato harvest back in the days when you picked spuds “by hand.”
She attended Aberdeen High School, where she met Glee Michaelson and they married in 1945. They had six children, Marie, Lyle, Dale, Jerry, Cheri and Kevin. They moved to Pleasant Valley in 1958.
Glee and Wilma divorced in 1963. Wilma married Dean Kendall in 1976. He preceded her in death in 1994. Wilma’s son Jerry, granddaughter Misty and granddaughter Kisten also preceded her in death.    
Wilma worked in American Falls, where she managed Chadwicks Department Store. She also worked at the Arctic Circle, Morgans Department Store and Fargos Department Store in Pocatello, Idaho. She always enjoyed working with the public.
Wilma held local and state offices in the Business and Professional Women’s Association and she was also very active in St. John’s Lutheran Church. She also spent lots of time making a great many quilts.
Wilma is survived by five children, Marie (Randy) Jimerson, Lyle (Donna) Michaelson, Dale Michaelson, Cheri Michaelson and Kevin Michaelson; two brothers, August and Freddy Schultz; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 7, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service starting at 12:00 noon in the Fireside room at church. Inurnment will follow at Aberdeen Cemetery.   Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in American Falls.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Rose Mortuary.
